A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a document issued by a reputable source that confirms the genuineness of an artwork. Often, COAs are signed by the artist, but they can also be signed by the gallery representing the artist or the printmaker who collaborated on the piece. Onda is a small-run series of raku-fired ceramic wall sconces made in Miami. Each piece is fired, then reduction-finished while still hot, and the surface develops in real time. During firing, metal oxides react with flame and smoke, producing unpredictable variations — color shifts, metallic tones, and fine crackles from rapid cooling. The glaze sets the overall character, but the exact result never repeats. Every Onda carries its own finish, made as a one-off collectible piece. Custom-made glazes are possible. Metallic splashes depend on the firing and may appear more or less.
