One-of-a-kind piece

A rare and striking pair of large pewter vases by the renowned GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget), Stockholm, crafted in 1938 as confirmed by base hallmarks. Classic amphora form with elegantly arched double handles and a fine band of horizontal lines around the shoulder, quintessential Swedish Art Deco. Rich natural patina with honest age-appropriate surface wear. The two vases complement each other beautifully in scale, and are generously sized for real flower arrangements, equally at home as sculptural accents or filled with stems. Both vases carry the GAB maker's mark, an original sticker, and "M8" indicating 1938 production. One vase also bears the subtle inscription "1888–1938".
