The Legume Lamp by Kawabi is a playful illumination inspired by the organic curves of leguminous seed pods. The form borrows from cultural and religious trays used to carry a platter of offerings such as fruit, wine, and rice. Sitting upright, the lamp displays a food offering in an elevated gesture of presentation and ritual. This piece is part of an ongoing series about gratitude and remembrance. Dimmable to three brightness settings by a brass touch switch on the base. Each piece is handmade with Japanese wood and paper-making techniques in the designers' New York studio. Materials: White Oak, Japanese kozo paper, rattan, brass.
