A large Art Nouveau planter with a boldly scalloped rim, its body encircled by a relief band of flying ducks in low relief. Finished in a rich lustre glaze, predominantly green with subtle hints of bronze breaking through. Signed "Gustafsberg" to the base. Produced by Gustavsberg's porcelain factory, Sweden, circa 1905. Gustavsberg is a Swedish pottery and porcelain manufacturer founded in 1825 near Stockholm. By the turn of the century it had become one of Scandinavia's leading ceramics houses, known for pairing high production standards with strong design talent — a combination that made it a key player in the Scandinavian Art Nouveau movement. The factory remains active today, with works held in major museum collections worldwide and a reputation as one of the most celebrated names in Scandinavian ceramic history.
