Italian Plexiglass and Brass Smoking Desk Set 70s
In the 1970s, Italian design distinguished itself through a sophisticated approach to everyday objects, blending transparency, geometry, and fine materials. This desk set perfectly illustrates this aesthetic, being both functional and decidedly decorative. Italian production, designer unattributed. The set comprises three coordinated elements: a rectangular box in solid plexiglass, a square valet tray incorporating a circular brass insert, and a lighter presented in its matching base. The thick, perfectly polished plexiglass plays with light and reflections, while the brass adds a warm and precious touch, typical of Italian productions of the period.
The condition is very good. The plexiglass is clear, without any noticeable cracks or chips, and shows slight signs of wear consistent with its age. The brass has a soft, even patina, without any significant oxidation. The piece is cohesive, well-preserved, and visually very elegant.
