S.N.S.A. Pine Tambour Room Divider, France 1950s

A sculptural room divider produced by S.N.S.A. in France, characterized by its architectural presence and organic, flowing form. Made from pine, the screen is constructed from a series of narrow wooden slats that form a continuous, flexible surface. Its articulated construction allows the divider to be arranged in various configurations, from a compact cylindrical form to a generously curved freestanding screen. The rhythmic vertical slats and softly undulating upper edge give the piece a distinctly sculptural quality. The warm tone and expressive grain of the pine enhance its natural character, while the curved surface creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow. Both functional and decorative, the divider can be used to define a space, create privacy, or simply stand as an architectural element within an interior. Its flexible construction allows the form to be adapted to different settings and compositions. The original S.N.S.A. manufacturer’s label remains present on the wooden end support. An unusual example of French design combining natural materials, craftsmanship and sculptural functionality. Measurements: H 180 x W 250 x D 2 cm
