Tucked beneath a scenic 70-foot-long loggia is Meg Lonergan Interiors’ ode to Persephone—the ancient Greek goddess of spring and the queen of the underworld—that, like the two realms she inhabited, offers ample room for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Enjoy a coffee at the stone-and-mosaic dining table or unwind with a spritz while splayed out on a sofa by McKinnon & Harris; elegant fabric drapes by Kravet and Sunbrella reveal the tropical foliage outside or nestle it away for a moment of fresh air and privacy. An invitation to paradise.
Rajni Alex Design’s kitchen blends traditional and modern elements with stunning marble and traditional details that connect styles and eras. The comfortable, light-bathed kitchen island is just waiting for work-from-home days or champagne toasts with friends while gathering in the kitchen. Every detail has been considered with the hand-blown glass fixtures serving as delicious cherries on top of the design.
Boca Raton-based designer Laetitia Laurent, of Laure Nell Interiors , pays homage to French fashion houses, iconic film stars, and the country's rich history of craftsmanship while designing a bathroom that completely fits into Palm Beach.
"We named the room 'Les Coulisses,' which doesn't have a perfect translation but basically means 'backstage' in French, and the space is all about the art and rituals of getting ready," says Laurent. "It feels like this very performative space, less like performers in a theater and more like life being the ultimate performance, with the bathroom being the place where you get ready for it all.”
Palm Beach is known for its rich architectural heritage, which dates back to the Gilded Age. The area became a destination for wealthy industrialists and socialites, leading to the construction of grand estates and the introduction of luxurious architectural styles like Mediterranean Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Art Deco. These early influences shaped the distinctive design identity of Palm Beach.
Palm Beach is famous for its Mediterranean Revival architecture, which features stucco facades, red-tiled roofs, and arcades. This style drew inspiration from the coastal villas of Italy and Spain and became a hallmark of Palm Beach estates in the early 20th century. The area also features elements of Beaux-Arts and Art Deco styles.
Palm Beach attracted renowned architects and designers such as Maurice Fatio, Addison Mizner, and John Volk. Addison Mizner, in particular, played a significant role in shaping the area’s Mediterranean Revival style. Additionally, interior designers like Elsie de Wolfe and Dorothy Draper contributed to the luxurious interior design aesthetic that defines Palm Beach.
Palm Beach remains a central hub for design with events like the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, which brings top designers and architects together to showcase the latest trends and innovations.
