Singular, elongated and still, it recalls an ancient standing stone, reimagined in Grade 304 steel whose surface bends and fragments everything reflected in it. Each Monolith form is hydroformed, expanded under high water pressure into a hollow body, then hand-worked with hammers until the surface carries its slow undulations. Solid to look at and never fixed in fact, the bench shifts with the hour, the light and the movement of whoever is near it. Low and long, it settles as easily into domestic rooms as institutional ones. Hollow construction leaves it roughly 30% lighter than a cast equivalent, and the rust-resistant steel runs throughout. Nitush Aroosh is a self-taught collectible design studio founded by brothers Nitush and Aroosh Mahipal in New Delhi, India.
