{"product_id":"1930s-rene-lalique-french-art-deco-ashtray-bowl","title":"1930s René Lalique French Art Deco Ashtray \/ Bowl","description":"A rare early example of René Lalique’s Soudan ashtray (Model No. 328), this design was introduced in 1934 during the height of the French Art Deco movement. Moulded in clear and frosted high-clarity demi-crystal glass, its substantial square form features a bold geometric zig-zag border that creates a subtle interplay between softly textured surfaces and light-refracting polished clear glass. The raised architectural pattern catches the light naturally, making it an ideal choice for collectors or anyone seeking a touch of authentic French Art Deco style for their home.\nBecause the Soudan model was re-issued in the post-war era, proper verification of the signature is essential for identifying an authentic lifetime piece. This example bears the original etched “R. LALIQUE FRANCE” mark to the base, confirming its manufacture during René Lalique’s lifetime prior to 1945. Due to it's beauty, Post-war Lalique re-editions omitted the initial “R”, and were signed simply “Lalique France”—distinguishing this piece as a genuine pre-war original rather than a later production.\nOriginally designed as a luxury tabletop ashtray, its generous proportions and clean geometric profile translate effortlessly to contemporary interiors. Today, it functions as an elegant vide-poche—a refined vessel for holding jewellery, keys, or small everyday essentials—making it both a functional decorative object and a significant addition to any collection of French Art Deco glass\n\nVery Good Art Deco vintage condition with light base wear expected due to age displaying only a few negligible micro-pinpoint marks (under 1\/16\" or 0.06mm) on the edge and a few light scratches underneath detectable strictly under close inspection","brand":"Trove Paris","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":66005548040582,"sku":null,"price":750.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0671\/5290\/4457\/files\/bghpr5vnjg3cbyvqvzsh.jpg?v=1790188681","url":"https:\/\/oblist.com\/fr-ch\/products\/1930s-rene-lalique-french-art-deco-ashtray-bowl","provider":"The Oblist","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
